Stanton has published several long-form stories, ranging between 7,000 and 25,000 words, directly onto the Humans of New York’s social media platforms. Each of these stories was serialized across many posts-- sometimes as many as fifty—and all of them were read in their entirety by many millions of people. This sort of retention in long-form storytelling on social media was previously thought to be impossible. The most widely read of these stories, Tanqueray, was turned into a #1 NYT Bestselling book of the same name.
